VKBDevCFG dying on me [SOLVED]

Postby Ugly Eric » Fri Oct 05, 2018 9:47

Hi

I reacently got me a Gunfighter mk II rev. B base with KG12 grip second handed. Now, as I started to try to learn the VKBDevCFG software, it suddenly died on me.

What I did:
- I had calibrated my stick
- I tried to start to make a profile for pinky button shift function with the manual's guidance
- Software froze -> I forced it shut

How it works now:
- When I try to launch the VKBDevCFG, the icon in tray opens, but the software is nowhere to be seen.
- If I open task manager, it says it is open and running, but I cannot find the window of the program anywhere

What I tried so far:
- wait up to 2 hours
- Re download the VKBDevCFG (same version number) and re"install" the program

Now I can't get this to launch anymnore. Any tips to how to fix this? It propably is for one or another reason my computers fault, not the programs, but I still would like to get it fixed.

Does GF work itself?
What version of VKBDevCfg do you use? Where have you downloaded it from?

The base and grip works perfectly as far as I can tell.

I downloaded the the VKBDevCfg from your websites and I picked the latest dated version of it (can check the number once back home).

edit. I did use the VKBDevCfg for few times and it worked well without any problems. Only after I used the button wizard, it stopped working.

You can flash the new firmware via zbootlader (just pick right firmware for your device) and make another calibration in Devcfg. Wizzo is very limited Im not using that. But let the VKB guy answer this one so you are sure to make a right steps.

1.Try to save VKBDevCfg.exe to another folder and launch wrom this place.
2. Try to redownload it.
I tried to press Button Wizard button but nothing bad happened(

Nope. Both unsuccessful.

edit.: Solved!

Issue was, the window had jumped outside of my screens for some reason. So the program worked, but the window was outside of my screens.

It's quite peculiar thing to happen to be honest. Windows shouldn't allow software to get outside of the screens ...

However, what gave it a way was, that when I alt+tabbed, I saw the VKBDevCfg program open and running on the thumbnails. Thus I knew, it is running for reals.
