Setting up HAT switches as keyboard commands

Postby Lobstrosity » Sun Aug 12, 2018 1:09

1 - Device model and version - VKB Gunfighter Modern Combat Pro Version 1.94B
2 - Controller Firmware version 1.94B
3 - Number and type of springs used - 2 #40
4 - Тype of cams used - original installed
5 - If VKB original software is used, please always mention its version - VKB Device Config v 0.83.96

I've almost got this stick setup for IL2 BoS. Everything is working in button logging and in game except the Gate Cont and Master Mode switches. I am trying to program them as discrete buttons for the keyboard commands for trim control on Gate Cont and lights, autopilot, and gear on the Master Mode. I have been unable to get them to register as these keyboard commands. Under the POVs tab I have them set as

#1
POV type: Discrete
Output: Buttons L
But#1 :99

#2
POV type: Discrete
Output: Buttons L
But#1 :30

Any help setting them up would be most appreciated.

The simpliest way to set microsticks as button sets is to make a little trick. Launch VKBDevCfg.exe. Open Global - External tab. Click device #1. Select Generic device instead of MCG. Now you have more flexibility. By default MCG grip as ext device has 3 register. Set Reg N to 5 instead of 3. Press Set button. Both microstics have corresponding physical buttons. 25...28 and 29...32. You can use and configure them.
