I was preparing to order the MCG-Pro for my early v1 Gunfighter and went to flash the BB for the KG12 as I've done a few times already but the Blackbox won't take it. It gets a few yellow bars across and BB blue light turns solid and it dies. Shows as a bare boot NJoy device with no name or version.
I ran it as admin, I ran ZBootloader, I reset BB, tried to set to defalut, but nothing works. Seems BB is dead. Can I fix it or should I bury it?
Thanks,

Re: Dead BlackBox?
Hey Support!? It's been over a week for what should be a simple fix for this problem, and there has been no response from anyone other than North American sales. If I'm screwed, please at least let me know. I am not your typical dumb user. I am the "user" that found and solved the only hardware defect on the first round of Gunfighters, that being the too long housing screw that rubbed the cam causing it to stick for many other "users".
Sooo, if you don't have a current fix, I would more than happy to work with technical support to solve this.

Re: Dead BlackBox?
Need more information to clarify the problem. Show screenshots from the configurator and the bootloader. I do not think it's necessary to explain that they should not be launched simultaneously?

Re: Dead BlackBox?
I ask you to pay attention to some details:
1. in the "locomotive" is highlighted in red specifically - Attention! For firmware larger than 64k you need Z-Bootloader v1.10 !!!
You use an earlier firmware 1.92.1 and its weight does not exceed 64KB - then you need to flash it with another, old, Z-bootloader 0.95-97.
2.or use a newer firmware, for example, 1.93E with the new Z-bootloader 1.13. Take everything from the "locomotive". In this case, you should use the corresponding configurator, for example, v.0.85.29.
3. on idle Led should not be paid attention when starting Z-bootloader - this is normal, after the firmware everything will fall into place and will work as it should.
Follow these tips and you will succeed.

older Z-bootloader
Thanks for the reply Ron. Per your directions, I have looked through every FTP folder I can find but 1.11 is the only version of ZBootloader in them. Please provide me a link to "Z-bootloader 0.95-97" that you said I must have to load the current 1.92 firmware.
thanks,

Re: Dead BlackBox?
I would advise you to upgrade to a new firmware, but since there is no such desire, you can download it from here. Everything is being improved, so the old version disappeared from FTP.
Re: Dead BlackBox?
OK, I ran 1.92.1 firmware with the zbootloader you gave me and screenshot:
I do not have a problem upgrading to a new firmware as you mentioned. But this is the newest version that I can find on FTP:
BB_GF_v1_92_1.zip 18-Jan-2018 09:42
If you will provide me a link to the right firmware for my GF-v1 KG12, I will be glad to run it. I just want the Blackbox to wake up.

Re: Dead BlackBox?
This ancient video will help you navigate in the right direction, I adhere to this algorithm from the beginning of acquaintance with VKB products.
At the last screenshot, although the lamp is green, but the inscription says - the device is not ready, firmware is not possible. This needs to be corrected.
References to the extreme software are here and here.

Re: Dead BlackBox?
The video wasn't much use, but I set .ini to developer and show the result here:
I could find no .cfg for the gunfighter like for the gladiator in the video. But as you can see, there is no data in "Settings".
So I ran the newest ZBootlader and the screenshot follows. Again the blue light on the BB comes on solid.
Follows a screenshot of the newest files I ran from your links.
It still appears the blackbox is dead. Please advise.

Re: Dead BlackBox?
The lack of support is getting worrying... I have seen nothing from VKB with the exception of Rrohde... Did you open a support ticket tec?
Re: Dead BlackBox?
I suppose you have not z-bootloader and vkbdevcfg running simultaneously? that is prohibited. I saw your screenshot of vkbdevcfg with v00.56 device.
Let`s try from the bginning.
Save z-bootloader (1.13) and vkbdevcfg (0.85.29) in the same folder.
Launch vkbdevcfg.exe. If you see VKBsim Gunfighter ..., press Bootloader button. vkbdevcfg.exe will be closed. If not - close it! z-bootloader will run automatically. Open file, press flash it.
If you see v00.56, close vkbdevcfg.exe and launch z-bootloader. Try to press reset button. What will you see?

Re: Dead BlackBox?
After all unsuccessful attempts to upgrade the firmware, it is necessary to reconnect the USB cable. And after this operation, run the configurator and provide a screenshot of the main window.
Re: Dead BlackBox?
OK Ron, replugged usb ran devconfig and it now shows the device but no data in lower section.
Ran Zbootloader and got the same solid blue light.
Box still dead...
