VKB Gunfighter doesn't return to center

Postby smoke63b » Tue Jan 23, 2018 17:04

I'm spending most of my time in IL-2 at the moment and using a first generation VKB Gunfighter base with the MCG Pro. When I first got the stick I didn't realize I was supposed to loosen some bushings. There were no pictures and I assumed it was the black bushings on the cams. I loosened those and I'm still experiencing this problem.

The stick never returns all the way to center. When I'm flying, I have to CONSTANTLY adjust my roll because I can't get the stick to center on its own. I have to nudge it around in whatever direction it needs to go to find center. I have even installed the #30 springs and loosened the bushing a bit more.

Really not satisfied if this is considered normal operation...

I feel like I'm just a moron and I can't figure this out or I got a faulty stick. I hope I'm just a moron.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Wes

1) You need to loosen the dry clutches completely - refer to this little howto: https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=gun ... ions-guide (refer to page 4 steps 1-3 on how to remove the dust cover, then refer to page 3 for the dry clutche operation)
2) You need to correctly calibrate your Gunfighter + MCG - refer to this guide: https://vkbcontrollers.com/wp-content/u ... -Guide.pdf (jump to page 4+5)
3) After calibration with VKBdevCfg, take a screenshot of the Profile page, displaying the "Common -n- Axes" tab
4) Test your axes with the VKB_Joytester by moving your grip fully around in a circle, then letting go of it, and then letting the oscillations subside; once the oscillations are done, grab a screenshot.
5) Add your screenshots to this thread.
