I'm trying to follow the instructions found on the vkb-sim website for updating to 1.91F firmware. https://vkbcontrollers.com/?p=8200
After downloading the resources specified, I'm attempting to walk though the instructions linked in the original article https://vkbcontrollers.com/?p=8185
Problem Description
-------------------------
I'm at this point in the steps
Code: Select all
Launch VKBdevCfg-C.
In the top panel, click on the “VKBsim Gunfighter Modern Combat” name to select it.
From the Tools tab, click on the “Bootloader” icon; this should close VKBdevCFG and automatically start ZBootloader-C (if you have it in the same folder).
As soon as I click the "Bootloader" button, VKBDevCfg-C.exe shuts down, but ZBootloader-C does NOT launch. All files are in the same folder, and set to run as Administrator.
The "SYS" light on the black box shuts off at this point. I have to manually unplug/replug the USB cable to get the device to register again.
I tried to use these workaround steps, by first running Zbootloader and following through them. Zbootloader does not recognize the device as being present.
The message says Boot Device: Turn Out
In the information panel, there is the message 16.313:Device disconnected.
Code: Select all
From within the Zbootloader, click “Reset”
Exit Zbootloader
Go back into VKBdevCfg
Exit VKBdevCfg right away
Click on the ZBootloader-C executable and continue with Step 4. above.
Per the instructions, I've verified there is no other third party peripheral programs running. All other peripherals except for mouse and keyboard are unplugged from the PC. I'm using Windows 10 Pro.
