Calibration after flashing v1.91F

Postby rwalker » Tue Jan 16, 2018 19:11

Hi,

I flashed to the latest firmware, v1.91F, after flashing I:
1. Clicked the default button
2. Calibrated.

Calibration seemed to work fine, but after I click end calibration some buttons show as pressed in the test tab. They were not shown as pressed before the calibration started. I've tried repeating the steps a few times now always with the same result. I had previously flashed v1.91E a few days ago with no problems. See the image below:

hmm, very strange. I calibrated a couple more times. One time after calibration, the buttons didn't show as pressed. I exited Device config, came back in, lights were still not on. I thought it was fixed. I clicked the Axes1 tab and checked the range of the axis, all seemed good. Clicked back on the test button and saw this:

Well, I went back to 1.91F and now I don't see the issue. Just to answer your question, the Global/Common page:

Once the problem has disappeared - wonderful. I remember, in earlier versions, it was like that, if there was not a check-box Map.

FWIW I had that happen too. Hitting the "set" button cleared it.

ok, this is getting weirder. I did nothing but start VKB Device Config again just now. The second image listed above, the one with many buttons "on", is back. Global/Common is the same as I already attached. When did you hit "set"? I tried it and it just said something about no new data.

Click default, then click set(important) , THEN calibrate. Gotta do that because the device isn't "ready" until you do. When you click end calibr, the device restarts and you should be ok. I can't replicate it as it only happened after the flash and it's gone now. But you're not crazy! I saw it too! I think I just happened to have the test buttons screen open before I did anything else and all those buttons showed pressed. Definitely a Wtf moment!

I'll try that, I did click default each time, but I'm pretty sure I didn't click set after that.

Update: clicking set after default..seems to be working now..crossing fingers! Thanks for help.

Issue is back after flashing to 1.921. It is like the first picture (bottom row of buttons reporting being pressed). Made sure I clicked set at the same time as before, but then tried not clicking set after default as well. If I click restart from VKB Device Config, the lights go off for a little while, but come back on after some short time (< 10 minutes). I'll live with this for a while and see if any games have problems. Those aren't even buttons I can use anyways.

You have to click set. Reason is when you click default it clears everything in VKBDevconfig. It's the default profile. You have to set that default profile to the stick in order to truely restore defaults. It's an important step. Without clicking set, while you've told VKBDevconfig to restore, you haven't sent that info to the stick. They both have to be on the same page. After that you must calibrate.

As I said I'd seen this too but haven't had it recur once I'd done all that. I'll be flashing to the new FW tonight probably.

I did as mentioned: "Made sure I clicked set at the same time as before...", but just as a test I tried again without clicking set...And my current state is where I flashed, clicked default, click set, calibrated. Lights are on...I would also mention that previous firmware updates don't have this behavior.
