Gunfighter (Rev A) Spiking

Hi,

Further to my post here: http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2737&p=27369

I've been having the same issues since and more recently I've noticed spiking with the stick just sitting idle and moving it to the right. I'm running FW 1.86C with the latest configurator now but I've tested it on v1.852 with the same issues. I'm using #10 cams with #40 & #30 springs on both axes. Recalibrated numerous times without any change. I think either the cable to the BB is bad, some issue with the BB itself or both. Any help would be appreciated.

Spikes on one axis or on others, too?

Just the one axis. I cleaned the connectors for the cable to the black box and that resolved the issue. Is it possible that I could get a replacement cable?

There are a few cables in the GF, not one. Please specify which exactly contact group you cleaned. A picture or two would be better than a hundred words! :)

Apologies for the delay. I was away on a trip. I cleaned the contact ends for this cable with some contact cleaner and some cotton:

However, it started happening again. I dug further into it and found out that with Deep Sleep disabled in my bios, power is still sent to the BlackBox. I think this is what causes the spiking/offset in the calibration. I've enabled deep sleep for the S5 state (normal shut down) and it's been keeping the calibration perfectly since (knock on wood). So that setting might be of interest to you and you team.

Thank you for input. Yes there is something to chew over.
Let me have a wild guess, you have Asus motherboard?
Not that I have a thing against Asus, but they have long been known for glitches, and particularly for sleep/wake transition ones.
We will try to replicate this on our computers and I hope the problem shows up. Because if it doesn't, it will only mean that it is computer-specific :(

Asrock actually. Let me know if you're able to reproduce it.
