Possible Bug - Gunfighter Pro

Postby TheBigDustin » Tue Jun 20, 2017 5:27

Hi! I just got my Gunfighter Pro setup and dialed in to my liking. It. Is. Awesome!

I noticed one small (possible) bug when loading the KG12 (pinky button = shift) profile to my Gunfighters Black Box. After I load the profile, the green light for "Stick" on the black box is no longer illuminated. The profile is actually loaded and working as intended however. The Blue light for "Sys" is on, just not "Stick." I just performed a Default settings reset and now the green Stick light is illuminated and I can confirm that the pinky shift button is no longer working as a shift (working normally in this mode). For a laugh I just put the pinky shift profile back on my black box and now the green light is not illuminated.

Its not the end of the world. The profiles are working, just maybe not like they're intended?

Thanks a lot for your praise. (and yes, it isn't the end of the world, indeed).
Talking bugs, I have a suspicion you used an older "configurator" version.
Try the following:
a - reset everything to defaults
b - replace your config program with its latest program version (downloadable from http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Programms/VKBDev ... 80_8_9.zip)
c - load the profile
d (optional) - enjoy your flights!

Tell me if it did not work. We won't let the world end, at least this way and for such a trifle reason.
Best Regards,
AeroGator

Please run VKBDevCfg and show screenshots of Profile - Buttons - Physical layer and Global-External - LEDs.

Here are the images as requested!

Take note the version at the top is indeed VKBDevCfg v0.80.89
The profile loaded is the Pinky Shift profile. I provided links to exactly what I downloaded

Resetting to Default

I get this error. However It does reset back to factory settings!

For completeness Here are pictures of the Default Profile state

Again, in the Default state, the pinky button does not act as Shift (normal) and the Green "Stick" led is illuminated.
Hope this helps.

In the cap of the configurator it is written - this version works with firmware above 1.86+. And you have 1.85. Use an earlier configurator.

I have a similar issue. If I change a setting such as dead zone and write it to the black box, the stick light goes out. If I reset back to default, the stick light glows again. I have the latest firmware and software.

Just a thought - have you tried running VKBdevCfg as "Admin"?

Oh, and about the green LED - there's currently still a glitch that prevents the green LED from staying on - even though the stick is correctly attached. This will be addressed hopefully soon; at this time, I would not rely on the LED being green as a sign of things working. So long as the red LED doesn't flash, you should make some progress.

Yep....running as Administrator. Other than the stick light glitching, it is working fine.

This. Everything works but the light. Only in the Default Profile. I wont bother with it honestly.

We will. give it some time. But do what we told you before -reset everything, check your CFG version and update it and reload your profile.
Give us feedback on how it works.

I have tried all of this.....the stick LED goes out as soon as I make any change from the default settings in terms of deadzones, etc. It isn't a big deal as the changes I make do work.

OK people let's go wild.
Option 1: wait for a new CFG version - might take a week or so.
Option 2: get your hands dirty.

If you go for Option 2, you're doing it at your own risk
before everything, reset to factory defaults.
Then:
a - go to CFG folder, wherever you saved it.
b - find zconfig.ini; open it in notepad or similar program
c - find User section in this file
d - add User=Developer as a new line in this section
e - if there is no User section, add the following at the end of the file:
[User]
User=Developer

f - save the file
g - open the CFG and load your profile
h - take off and shoot them all down.

Tell me if it works.

AeroGator

It totally worked :)

I reset my profile back to Default, opened up zconfig.ini and added the line you wrote. Re-loaded the KG12 12 button config. The Green light is on, and the profile is working as intended!

Thanks!

Here it is, fresh and fragrant, the new FW. Hopefully, no more LED problems.

Will try after work today and let you know.

Edit:

I reset my device back to default. I removed the User=Developer line from zconfig.ini. I used the updated VKBDevCfg-C v0.81.83, read device state, confirmed that the 6 button profile (default) is loaded, Green light on! Wrote the profile BB_GF_KG12_12B(1_85_2)0_79_99.cfg to the device. Profile is working as intended with pinky button as shift, 12 buttons total. Green light is on!!

So far, this is working perfectly. Thanks for the hard work!
