Something new about LEDs

Postby Victorus » Fri Jul 01, 2016 16:48

1. Buttons, encoders (look here http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2081&p=21819#p21819 how to) or real axes can be used to trim main (pitch (Y, #2) and roll (X, #1) joystick axes.
2. You can use LEDs to indicate if axis-trimmer is not in the center http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2076&p=19915&hilit=trimmer#p19915.
You can see much more info about trimming status - about rotation angle value.
To do so you must do the following actions
1. Divide axis range to some intervals, 7 for example. Some buttons will correspond to every interval For example 7 buttons from #75. When axis will be rotated, buttons will be virtually pressed.
2. Each button status is indicated by LED flashing mode.
For example virtual axis #7 is combined with axis #2 (Y), to trim pitch

Open Global - Common tab and check A2B checkbox.
To set up axis to buttons function open Profile - Common-n-Axes - Axes2Buttons tab. For axis #7 Type=Zones, Histeresis=5%, Vbut1=75

To set up LEDs OpenGlobal - External - LEDs tab. The middle interval (near axis center) corresponds with button #78. No LED flashes. If you rotate axis#7 to next zone it will cause Button #77 to be "pushed" and so on. When axis response will be within this interval LED #12 will fast blink with Color1. In the next interval button 76 will flash the same LED Ultrafast. And more brightly. When you rotate axis in opposite direction buttons #79, #80 and #81 will be pushed in the same manner.

LED numbers in my example are for those enthusiasts who use RGB LED (https://yadi.sk/i/l0S9V2z9qDKVg, Russian with pictures). You can use Mamba LEDs. LED #4 (Warning) physically has two LEDs - Color1 (Oil) and Color2 (Eng). Look for info about Mamba LEDs here http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1846 and here http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2076.
You can use LED #4 Color1 and Color2 instead of Leds # 11 and #12. Try to use LEDs #1 (Left Gear) and #2 (Right Gear) for roll (X axis, #1) trim indication.
