Anybody help with Macros & or Holding Down Multiple Keys?

Postby Weegie » Fri May 27, 2016 21:39

So I've got another question

I am guessing you do this through Macros but I'm not sure how

I can get the Macros to work for discrete repeat key presses, but they act as a sequence

What I am trying to do is hold down several keyboard keys when I press a button on a stick and then released when I release that button

Any help appreciated and or a quick walk through of Macros in general and what all the settings do would be very helpful for me (and others I hope)

If you want to "push" buttons/keys simultaneously you must use RPB (replication) function.
Line (button) numbers were assigned for example only. You use can any others)).
I have warthog grip on Mamba case. Pinky button number is 28. I want to press physical pinky button and one or more other virtual buttons to be "pressed". Numbers of buttons can be out of physical button space. Note that obsolete directX can not recognize numbers greater than 32. In this case you can map virtual buttons to keys.
So. Run VKBDevCfg-C.exe and open Profile - buttons - Physical layer tab. Check Poll checkbox. Press desired button and see red dot in its cell (#28 for me)). Remember line number. Choose any free (from any hardware button) line cell and click it. My choise was 55. Select RPB function.

Now you must select replicated button - physical button that will virtually push this one. You can type 28 in Replicated button field, use counter or doubleclick this field and select desired number in Virtual layer panel directly.

Click Set button to to save configuration into controller memory. Volia. Run VKBJoytester, press pinky (in my example) button and see response.

If you want to push another "button" configure its line with the same manner.
If you want to map buttons to keys, open Logical layer tab, and set up mapping.

Note!!!
Do not use button mapping wizard on Physical layer tab (as usually for mapping)! "Master" button, (#28 in this example) can be mapped to key too. If you will use button mapping wizard from Physical layer tab there will be difficulties.

Click Set.
Run any text editor or Thrustmaster tool https://yadi.sk/d/1cz_QXmts5oqc and press button.

Yes Victor you have understood exactly what I want to do

I'll try your solution later today and report back

Your posts are truly enlightening, I was terrified of the Configurator at first now, thank to you I'm pretty comfortable with parts of it....................others still remain a mystery
