Fat Black Mamba Y axis going crazy

Postby Mr Dinsdale » Mon May 02, 2016 18:13

Hey,

Just had my black mamba a couple of days, all of a sudden the Y axis on the stick seems to have messed up. According to the vkb config software its permanently as if the stick is fully deflected but only the Y axis, occasionally jumping back to the middle for a split second. Moving the stick seems to have no effect. Everything else seems to be working perfectly with the exception of Y.

I'm using VKB Device Config v0.77.23 and firmware v1.79+. Running on Windows 10.

I've tried loading a blank profile, calibrating via the vkb app, restarting, removing device from windows and reinstalling. Not sure what else to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Joe

Scrap this, it was just the firmware version that caused it, rolled back and it fine now!

Please show screenshots of Profile-Common -n -axes - Physical and Logical axes tabs for configuration with non working axis.

Hey,

Sure, its happening again after doing some tweaks so must be something I have done!

To my knowledge the only things that changed were the mode switch from toggle to shift and the 2 hats.

On the axes test the Y axis jumps between min and max rappidly.

Hi Mr Dinsdale,

Did you tweak anything in the Physical Axes tab? Something definitely looks wrong here:

The axis #2 (it's the Y axis) should use the D_MaRS setting. On your screenshot it's on A_MaRS (analogic).
Could you try to change this, apply the settings and report back?

Yesss! Y axis uses digital MARS.
Also (May be it is not critical, but)) exchange HID usage for axes 3 and 4. X, Y, Z, Rx, ...
Fat Mamba has 2 hardware analog axes - 3 and 5 that use potentiometers. The rest of axes you can use as virtual - convert from encoders or buttons.
Map checkbox is checked. It allows to map joystick buttons to keyboard. But to do so you must select Keyboard Mode to Classic (preferred) or modified. Now it is Off.

Try to use 1.79 firmware. It seems to be stable. You can take it (and additional info) here http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2147

How odd! I purposely avoided going near those settings as I definitely didn't understand them so not sure how I managed that. Currently at work but will take a look when I'm home!

Thanks!!!
