To check and clarify what does not work - the cable in the rod (this item disappears when using another handle and its operation), the contact pair grip /rod (spring contacts) or the controller itself on the board in the handle, Alex_Oz made the firmware and the configurator.
This is a pair of v.1_99_6 (3) and v.0.91.29.
In the Global-External tab, turn off the USART2 port - set to Off, check box red box. Do not forget to write this to the controller with the Set button.

Now you need to jumper the points on the controller board in the grip. It is advisable to seal the connector on the board, and not on top of the cable. The first picture shows a schematic, it is desirable to use the connector pins on the back of the board.
The first jumper checks the signal line and ground. In this case, the сheck-box should off light.
Without removing the first jumper, set the second - this checks the power line. During this operation, the box should light up.
If everything went well, as described above, we conclude - the contact group and cable are working, the controller in the grip is faulty.
Otherwise, it is possible that only the contact group board (spring contacts) or the cable to the board.

Just to clarify ...

1. I must install new configurator and firmware, where do I find these?
2. Turn off USART2 port
3. write it to firmware
4. unplug USB
5. dismount board
6. Plug in USB
7. Place a wire (jumper) on the face of the board as indicated with #1 in first picture
8. A checkbox should go off, do you mean the red dot at USART2?
9. Place a wire (jumper) on the face of the board as indicated with #2 in first picture without removing the first wire ... how do i do that, it's a very tiny board, what if i short something?
10. What do i do with the jumpers in second picture?? Am I supposed to hold 4 jumpers on the board?

They are here. The pictures show boards of different versions. And the arrangement of the elements is therefore different.
You can do so. I used two tweezers.

I just had a similar problem where no button would work and the red light would flash on the black box. I think I solved it.

1. Disconnect any grip you have on the base. Just have the base, no grip.
2. Flash the effected grip/grips. Do this while there is no grip on the vkb base.
3. Put the grip back on the base, use the one you last flashed. So if the f14 was the last grip you flashed, put on the f14.
4. Open device config and hit default. This is when it started working again for me. Not sure why this worked.

Ok i managed to get it working with the older gen firmware.
It was flashing red.
But then i hit default, restart, loaded a profile (default k12 profile) and worked.

With the NG firmware (multidevice) when plug the usb the blackbox flashes red, and the device is seen as VKB-SIM Gunfighter Modern Combat Pro NG v1.990 and no buttons from the K12 will work and the black box will keep to flash red.
If then i unplug it and attach the F14 or MCG Pro grip they are recognized immediately and all is working.
Can someone share a working profile for NG multidevice firmware with KG12 grip?
I have _MK2 black box and gunfighter III base.
My grips are F14, KG12 and MCG Pro.

If reset in default, the picture will change. You have the wrong address.

With multi firmware when changing the grip, you need to reconnect the USB cable or click the Restart button in the configurator. Only after that KG12 will be correctly determined and it can be configured.

Ron...i have told you and fallout9 many times that i already did that here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4174

I repeat to help you understand me.
I have 3 grips (MCG Pro, F14 and KG12)... 2 of them (MCG Pro and F14) are recognized and working without issues with the multidevice firmware, just reconnecting the cable and hitting restart just as you say when i change them.
With the KG12 this is not working. Do you want me to make a video of the process from the phone????
I can do if you want.
However with the older firmware for single device now the KG12 is working. So i don't think the grip is the problem
