Y Axis failure Gladiator NXT

Postby sniperct » Thu Feb 05, 2026 10:42

Gladiator NXT Y Axis only half working.

When testing in the VKB software only pushing forward will do anything. Pulling back and it barely moves.

All other axis and buttons work fine.

I took it apart, reseated the cabling and couldn't see any debris, plus the stick moves normally. Recalibrated, rebooted a bunch of times, reflashed and reconfigured from scratch, tried a known working USB cable (the one for my other stick which works fine).

I'm not sure what else to look at. First image is nothing touched, second image is stick pulled all the way back.

Third image is all the way forward

Did you reset to default after moving the sensor board? Post a full VKBDevCfg window.

Probably sensor board or wire damaged, please go for a service ticket with your local vendor.

Show the Profile-Axes tab from the configurator.

Update the configurator and firmware from here, and recalibrate after resetting to default settings. Show the screenshot again.

No luck, same behavior. It's definitely going further than before though

Take a screenshot from JoyTester (the program is located in Software) while moving the grip through its full range along the X and Y axes.

It's possible that one channel on the sensor is not being used after reconnecting the connectors. If possible, check the voltage relative to the black cable against the green and white cables, both on the board and on the sensor itself.
If this isn't possible, simply visually check the cable's integrity and the pins' engagement in the connectors on both sides.

Visual inspection yielded nothing but support got back to me to try the magnet. It's firmly in there with no issues, so they think it is the sensor board. As an additional data point to that, when I reconnected everything I plugged the sensor in upside down on accident and neither direction of the Y axis worked. Flipped it around and the previously working direction worked but the other direction did not.

They'll send me a new one when they're back from holiday for a small price and I'll report back. Hopefully that's it!
