A2 button (red button) not detected in NXT evo R SCG

Hi i just got my joystick. checked with device configurator that one of the button is not detected. the current device version is v2.198. any fixes to this? its not even lighting up in the Logical and Physical Layer during test. im pretty new to using a joystick.

i found out that apparently i need to press on the A2 button very hard for it to detect. which is abnormally hard. would opening and accessing the button or replacing it is the best solution?
