NXT Evo making and breaking connection

Postby OnANyMouse » Sat Apr 12, 2025 13:32

Hi,

I have several VKB controllers - 2 NXT Evos and a STECS throttle quadrant. Love them all.

Recently, I have been having issues with one of the NXTs, which seems to have a poor connector to the USB cable and at times is undetectable by my PC.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the cable seems to usually work, but it seems the connection is "brittle" and fails again from time to time. This is particularly frustrating whilst gaming as it generall requires a restart of the game involved in order to re-detect the stick.

Are there recognised issues with this or is this an issue for which I should request assistance from support?

Thanks

Swap the cable with the other one to see if the issue transfers with it. Plug to other USB port. Unplug some unneeded USB devices to see if your PSU is overwhelmed.

1000w PSU, do not expect that is an issue - all 3 VKB controllers are being used through a powered all-3.0 USB hub (with individual switches)

Swapped cable with the one from STECS, which seemed to resolve things, then used that same cable in the same USB port as the other (previous) one.... no problems... it seems I have a dodgy cable (albeit the one that came with the NXT, which is disappointing - these are the most awesome sticksI have ever owned... and I've been using sticks for flight for so many years I'll be collecting my pension soon!).

Thank you
