Gladiator and Elite Dangerous deadzones

Postby Squiggley » Fri Oct 04, 2024 12:10

Hi all, first post. I recently received my Gladiator NXT EVO and omni throttle and have them setup and configured in Elite Dangerous. They are both flashed with the latest firmware and calibrated. My issue is I seem to have massive deadzones in elite. I am surte its not the joystick as I can see in the VKBDevCfg test that the X & Y axcs are registering movement immediately. However in Elite it does not register my movement until its 1/4 of the movement.

So the axis starts at 32768 for both X and Y and in Elite it does not register until its around 16,000 or around 48,000.

Not sure what config shots to give so please ask if there is more required.

In Elite I can only choose generic joystick is that correct? the actual name of them is not shown?
I have all the buttons and hats works and mapping fine its just these deadzones thats killing my experience.
It feels like an Elite problems as opposed to a VKB problem but I have no idea how to diagnose it further.
Any help would be amazing thanks

There are no templates for the Gladiators in E:D, so you'll have to bind manually; a custom template would suffice. When it comes to the axes make sure you bind to analog controls and not digital (like Pitch Axis and not to Pitch Up and Pitch Down).
Your calibration looks fine, so the issue definitely lies on the game bindings.

You were exactly right I was sure they were bound to the axis but they were not.

Working great now thanks!!!
