Gunfighter IV Base without Grip

Will the Gunfighter IV base work without a grip plugged into the base? I want a very simple flight stick like the one found in a Piper cub without any buttons in the grip.

It would surely help, but I advise you to also get a 100mm extension, as it will be easier to attach to it your own extension and grip.

Thank you for the reply. Just to be sure, I can make my own stick with no wires and no buttons on the grip and the base will provide proper X-Y axis information to the PC running Microsoft Flight Simulator?

Yes.
You will need to disable the indicator on BlackBox in the configurator, signaling the lack of connection with the grip. So that it does not irritate.
