Gunfighter won't calibrate

Postby Bigdumb » Fri Nov 04, 2022 1:23

I just changed the springs & adjusted the dampers on my Gunfighter mk2 with MCG Pro & now I'm having trouble getting the joystick to calibrate. I've done this before & was able to calibrate OK afterward, so I don't know what went wrong this time. The black box has both the red & blue light flashing. When I open VKBdev cfg. , & press on "calibrate" there is no motion on the slider bars for the axis when I move the stick. I also, tried flashing & then pressing on "default" before trying to calibrate, but there is still no motion on the bar graphs when I move the stick. What am I doing wrong?

Check again grip to base connection - release the fastener and when the grip starts moving freely on the base press on it gently while retightening the fastener. Don't press hard so you won't damage the contact pins or pads, it just needs some pressure to stay in place properly. Tighten the fastener really good; push the hex key inside the bolt all the way when tightening, so you won't strip the head.

The mcg grip is on an extension that I never actually removed. I only removed the extension with the grip attached from the base. The grip still seems very secure on the extension though. The extension also seems to be seated & secured on the base now. Could it be a faulty cable from the base to the black box? The stick doesn't seem to be able to communicate with the software, although I'm pretty sure I was successful when flashing.

I have double checked all of the connections , Black box connection , the grip to the base, the circuit board connection. Everything looks good. Is there anything else I can check?

First reconnect both extension to grip, then grip to extension as explained above. Then reflash to the latest firmware, hopefully this would fix your issue. Flashing guide, then calibration guide; don't skip any steps please.

OK, I have reconnected everything. Now I'm trying to follow the instructions for re-flashing after downloading the latest blackbox firmware & cfg file, but got a message that my device is running on old firmware. Now , running the bootloader seems to be stuck on the "Device not ready" message. How do I advance from this stage?
