Keyboard Binding with a SIMPLE Explanation Please

I have played all my games using a keyboard and mouse for many years and now being a joystick NOOB I am completely lost on how to configure this thing!

So can anyone please break it down in its most SIMPLIST form on how I can assign a keyboard button combo to a Gladiator Pro NXT button? I simply can not figure out where to go using the VKB Device Config tool to change things.

Here's a tutorial on binding buttons to keyboard.

To simplify:
- Run VKBDevCfg in Admin mode and select your device in the top window (1);
- Set up the Keyboard Mode as Classic in Global/Common panel (2);

- In Profile/Buttons/Physical Buttons check the Poll option (3);
- Press and hold the joystick button you want to bind to keyboard - a cell will light up on the chart (4); mouse click on that cell;

- In the new window click mouse on the logical rep of that button (5), set it up as Keyboard (6), set up the key you want to get assigned to that button (7), then close that window (8);
- Set any other joystick buttons in the same way;
- Press Set button (9) to save changes.
