What is the purpose of this hook shaped UCM part?

Hello everybody
VKB products are great, but also very confusing.
I have used the You-Tube guides and assembled (almost) everything properly, but there are many parts left over.
I understand the function and purpose of all parts except these two Aluminium Hooks.
Please tell me, what are they needed for?

Those are spacers used to install on the sides of smaller brackets when connecting the upper wider part of the mount (the one with the clamp) with the lower narrower part (the one with the base plate).
