I currently haver v2_00_7 loaded, when I try to update to v2_00_9 it no longer detects the either x or y axis of the controller. If I flash it back to the previous it works again.
I've also got a problem with what the device name is. It has some kind of ghost space in front of the name which creates a lot of problems with DCS and other programs.
Lastly, ever since I updated the internals of the joystick, it uses buttons 105-128 on my TMW stick. This again creates huge headaches and lots and lots of lost time to reprogramming controller profiles. It also is not compatible with other games such as IL-2.
Any help with any of the above problems is greatly appreciated. I've been struggling with the last two problems for about 2 years now, and have about had it.
Latest firmware breaks my joystick.

Re: Latest firmware breaks my joystick.
So that would be a warthog grip on a GunFighter base? What color your Black Box is? If it's orange you'll have to flash the file called _BlackBox_GF_TMW_v2_09_0.vkb; if it's black the file labeled _BlackBox_MK2_GF_TMW_v2_09_0.vkb. Use also the latest versions of VKBDevCfg and zBootloader (downloads here).
Make sure you're pressing the Default button (under the Tools tab) after flashing and right before calibration; this should fix your buttons assigned to the end of the chart (but why would this bother you, as you just click a button to assign it in game, then forget about it?).

Thank you for the reply. I've done all of that (using the correct firmware file for the orange box etc, using reset defaults). As soon as you make any adjustments to the settings and hit set, it sets them back to high numbers. Which I probably wouldn't care except IL-2 does not support button numbers that high. So this bug actually breaks controller support for some games.
I have discovered that to delete the space in the name you can do it through the registry editor too. I SHOULD NEVER have to do this and it's been this way for years. VKB please fix your software.

Re: Latest firmware breaks my joystick.
If the joystick works properly and the buttons are to the top of the chart after resetting to default and get pushed back to the end of it after you're making changes, then maybe you're doing something wrong? What kind of changes are you operating? Surely that could get fixed. The button numbers could also get changed manually and I could assist with this procedure.
I've been playing lots of games, as many others and never had to change anything through registry? Why does that bothers you or how exactly it keeps you from using the joystick?

Re: Latest firmware breaks my joystick.
I'm only disabling the third axis which is enabled and adjusting the outer deadzone on the x and y axis. I don't touch the buttons. All of which are greyed out in the button editor except the bottom 3 rows.
I updated my internal components of my gunfighter, and when I did that I also updated my firmware, which in the process changed the name of the device. The added space made it very very difficult to re-coup my controller config's in DCS. I have spent count less hours configuring and perfecting those setups. And countless hours more that would have been made much easier and simpler had VKB not changed the naming convention, and more importantly not put a space in front of the name. I'm not sure why I have to point out how this is bad programming. I am by far not the only one affected by this: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/302905-fi ... #replyForm He also explains why the added spaces create problems.
