GNE X Axis Jitter After Default And Cal

Postby Gameboy4194 » Tue Mar 22, 2022 21:59

So I have had the stick for about 2 weeks and everything was working great. Then I wanted to swap out the A1 mini stick for the hat. I did follow the video on how to do so and everything went just fine, only after this did I notice the jitter, I took it apart again and made sure everything was done right and it was. I have defaulted and calibrated though the software and right after I calibrate it is fine until I do any movement then the jitter comes back. Any ideas? I think the jitter was worse the first time and got a little better the 2nd time after disassembly. The 3 base screws for grip and base are snugly on there.

Yes, I hit default, then find and auto config, then start calibration, move all axis to full and back, end calibration. Attached is a view of the joytester

Try another USB port, motherboard if possible. Move the joystick a bit further from the computer, especially from the modem/router/wifi ext.

Changing the port to the Motherboard from a hub fixed it, must have been getting a dirty signal. Thanks!

Let's talk about that more if you have time please :) just to have all the facts on file if it happens to someone else. Could you mention what changes you made first time when the issue show up (other than replacing the ministick) and what changes you made to fix it? Position change, USB extension or hub removed etc.

Sure, I had the stick with a thrustmaster twcs pluged into a anker 8 port powered USB hub that I had a laptop cooler and a external hard drive attached to. I dissembled the stick to swap out the mini stick and when to make sure it was configured and working correctly in the software. Before I did not notice any jitter but can't that for 100% it was not there before hand. I also noticed that the hat switches had a lot of wobble and was activating switches very easily, positive this was user error on reassembly. I disassembled again being sure to make everything fit properly. On the 2nd time the hat switches were just fine but still had the jitter on the x axis, upon switching the usb to a port on the laptop the jitter went away completely and it now shows a solid line with no spikes. Maybe because the usb hub is receiving power from a power strip with a 12v 3000mah power adapter it was getting interference from the power. I did not have to move the position of the stick to fix this
