Gladiator NXT X-Axis Strange Behaviour
I've updated my ticket with this information but was wondering if anyone had any insight they could offer. The X axis on my NXT doesn't respond properly, any movement will only affect the readout slightly, it doesn't re-centre and it'll sometimes jump to a random value. I've updated the firmware using the bootloader, set to default and tried re-calibrating.

Check if there's no metal debris attached to the magnet, or something between the sensor and the magnet.

Is the thing poking out the magnet? Is it supposed to be sticking out like that?

Disconnect the cable, remove the 4 screws and pull out the gimbal, so you could see what's going on in there. Careful when pulling the gimbal out, so the extended post holding the magnet won't damage the circuit board.
