Number of issues occurring at once

I have used this stick for about a year now and it's worked smoothly for the most part. However, just recently The Main axis began to lag, (it's hard to describe) and all functions on the grip stopped working. I tried reflashing the firmware but nothing seemed to happen. and looking at the vkbdevconfig, it says the grip is having a max error rate, but the base is fine. I've tried restarting a couple of times but I'm unsure what to change to try and fix it.

Is the base MKI, II, III? What grip?

Take the grip off the base, clean up the 3 contact pads on the top of the base stem with just a bit of alcohol, mount the grip back on the base, insert the fastener and while tightening it press gently on the grip so it would make good contact with the base.
