Quick question...does the metal shaft that I've pointed to in the picutre, do anything other than provide the attach point for the plastic grip? In other words, does it provide any of the electrical connection between the grip and the base?
I know the three pads inside the shaft make the connection for the three pins in the grip, but what I'd like to know is if the outer shaft plays any role in this electrical connection. Maybe not data, but grounding?
Anyhow, if anyone knows, I'd appreciate the info.
