X and Y axis jumping Gunfighter3 Kosmosima R

Postby Jaaku » Sat Apr 24, 2021 22:05

I have a right hand Kosmosima Premium with the Gunfighter Mk III, it's been used for all of 3 weeks. The black wire inside the twist module in the grip already broke, and I have resoldered it back on. Ever since, and I find it odd how these are related, when I open VKBConfig, the X and Y axis are reading from 0 to 65k or whatever within the first 30% or so of moving the stick, nothing any further, until the stick reaches just about max deflection, and then jumps to the opposite side I am pushing.

All firmware and VKBConfig is fully updated. Everything was working fine. Returning to default does nothing. I can default it, and then calibrate and it reads like it's supposed to and everything is golden, and when I end calibration and it saves to the stick, it just goes back to how I described. I can repeat this process, with it reading just fine in calibration, but then once saved screwing up.

What am I missing here?

Let me know if there is anything else I need to provide. I'm a new user so I may be completely missing something.

Here is the response curve side if that matters.

I suppose I should also mention that the twist axis does NOT behave this way. Only the x and y axis of the stick, and the rot x and rot y on the thumbstick.

KdHi and KdLo values (255) show that axes were not calibrated right(. Try to download newest firmware and vkbdevcfg.exe
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AiXf55zyUARXaVL90It7C0FXqoE
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AiXf55zyUARXbNlV11a4z3ce38g
Set MPL=9
Try to recalibrate.
Try to manually calibrate axes.

I did both, I have the newest firmware, recalibrated. Same issue. I set all the MPL values to 9, once it reads the data after calibration it just changes those all back to what's shown. And the stick has the same issue. Still able to default it, calibrate it with everything looking like it's supposed to, then it's messed up again.

Your joystick is uncalibrated. Please make sure your device is active (click mouse on its name in the device list) when pressing Default button and when calibrating. Please follow this guide, from posted timeframe.

I did exactly what you said to do, followed exactly what the video shows, when calibrating after default it looks fine. Click set in the box and then end calibration. Does the same thing, axis are jumping to opposite sides.

Please take a few minutes, watch the video and follow exactly. There's no 'click set' involved in this procedure, just Default, Start Calibr, End Calibr.

Then what is this? Because it won't let me click anything on the main window unless I click set or cancel.

Please don't misunderstand, I'm not upset here, I just speak direct I think. Just trying to figure out the joystick.

You could click on the grey Set All button, then the blue Set button; that window will disappear. Next click on Start calibr. button. Calibrate all axes (ministick included). Press End Calibr. Watch your issue gone.

Okay so I did the fallout9 thing. Then I did the Victorus thing followed by the fallout9 thing. Whatever it was is fixed as of now. Closed and reopened config thing. Still fixed. I love you both. I am not a very smart person and you were able to help me. Thank you so much.

Glad it works, we love you too :) Please keep in mind that calibration is required every time after flashing new firmware, resetting to default, replacing grips, changing springs or cams, or every few (3-4) months.
