Grinding Y-axis on Gunfigher mk3

Postby kirreen » Fri Mar 12, 2021 1:51

I have a relatively new gunfigher (about 3 months) and started using the 10cm extension this week with 40 + 30 springs. Mightb e 30 + 30, not 100%.

Anyway, tonight (second flight with the extension) I got a grinding in the Y-axis. Here's a video, but you can barely hear the sound: https://photos.app.goo.gl/cFNgJTkeB2r1x5Bd7

X-axis is completely smooth in comparison.

Now, I opened it up.. The X-axis cam looks a bit scratched / corroded, but that doesn't seem to be the issue, since the bearing isn't moving over that cam when I hear and feel the grinding.

First I thought it might be the dry clutch, but nope. Can't feel the grinding if I remove all of the springs.

What gives?

Please check this video and adjust your base accordingly. The scratches on you cam are coming from the cam's bolt getting loose, you'll have to remove the springs on that cam and fix it. Check the other cam too while you're there.

I'll test it as soon as I can.
