That's good news. Now the trick to preserve those wires is to not let it get caught between the spring and the pin, so when you are close to dropping off the spring on the pin just pull the wire a bit sideways on the hook so it won't get mangled when you release the spring. And don't forget to protect your eyes when working with springs.
