Unable to set up new T Rudder pedals
Received my pedals today, but I am concerned that something is very wrong.
I have been unable to calibrate them. After much reading and searching I did the following:
- reconnect all cables and plug into PC. Blue light on and red light flashing.
- Flash the box with the latest firmware. Blue light on and green light on.
- Pressed Default in the configurator, green light still on.
- Pressed to start calibration, press right pedal, axis responds, press left pedal, axis dies and red light flashing.
I've tried re-flashing a number of times, sometimes I will get a green light, often I get a red flashing light.
I've tried doing all of this on a 2nd PC, I got slightly further by getting a successful calibrate, then after pressing each pedal a few times, it died again with a red flashing light.
Am I doing something wrong or do I have a fault?

What firmware are you flashing? Could you post a screenshot with Profile/Axes please?

Seems like a contact problem. Move the cables slowly when the light is green and see which one is damaged.

Could be the connection in the pedal base. Can I test with a normal CAT5 cable?

I would suggest first to find which cable is damaged. If you move only one cable at a time and the light turns red then we've found it.

I think it is the connection to the pedal base. As I put that cable in there is a point where it will go green and operates OK when moving the pedals. It won't stay in that position though and when the cable is clicked in fully, the light goes red.

If you are sure it's the connector you might need to open them up and check the cable inside. Check this thread about similar issue and this video with instruction on disassembly.

After adding lines to the zconfig.ini file, as in the screenshot, go to the Test-Misc tab and click the green arrow. How does the green square against the 7th axis behave when you move the pedals left and right? Show screenshot of Global-External-Leds tab.

All this looks rather strange, since your first screenshot shows the calibrated 7th axis.
How did you do it without communication with the sensor?

I stripped them down and reseated the sensor cable connectors, but I'm still getting the same thing.
I found a point where the RJ45 connector is partially inserted where I will get a green light, it all works, and I can calibrate. When I click the cable in all the way, it all dies and I get the flashing red light.

Try a different cable, only full (8pin). Perhaps the problem is in the connector itself on the board. Take a photo without a cable like that, so that the spring contacts are visible.
