Re: configuring new control
Then it's not calibrated properly. Please read again and follow exactly the post I've explained how to calibrate (top of previous page).
You have 6 axes: pitch, roll, twist, throttle and 2 for ministick. Stay in Test page (like the screenshot that you've posted here) when calibrating so you could see the slider moving on the screen while activating all your axes end to end.

OK, I followed your instructions again, and calibrated the stick. All the axes move the slider when I move the stick, including the mini-stick. (this time the red light comes on when I push the mini stick button, then it goes off when "end Calibr" button is pushed.
However, in the game, there is still a lag when I move the stick. I ease back for a slight climb, nothing happens. I ease back some more, nothing happens, then even more and it kicks in like a double whammy. I have learned to pull back, then immediately ease forward to counteract the big upwards movement I know is coming . . . this only leads to me hobby horsing, and stalling out. (not always, sometimes I regain control),but I feel like I'm always NOT IN CONTROL. Nothing seems to happen until stick movement is more than half-way to the end stops. When rolling left or right, there is an audible "whoosh" from the game speakers as the plane jerks left or right. It does not smoothly roll, no matter how careful I am. Again, if I move it ever so slightly for yaw, nothing happens . . . only as I keep moving it in the X axes, it finally kicks in hard.
Is the A1 button supposed to be a fine tune X/Y axes? It does nothing at all when I use it in the game.
Also, I have figured out the mini throttle. It's low RPM point is right in the middle of the slider, . . . moving it up increases RPM, and, from the middle position, moving it down also increases RPM. I chose Throttle 1, 0 -- 100% setting for the throttle when I bound it.
How do I change it so all the way down is 0 RPM, and all the way up is 100% RPM?
Thanks for your help.

Re: configuring new control
We'll fix the throttle too, but let's first fix that janky flight model that you get. So please reset the sensitivity in game back to 0. Check the sensitivity for all the assigned axes and set it back to 0, same as deadzones.

Here's a screenshot of the settings for sensitivity that have already been set for my last few flights. Already set at "0", and still getting the herky-jerky movement of flight surfaces. (aileron, rudder, etc.)

Re: configuring new control
Selecting the wrong cell for setting the axes.
Control axes need to be configured in the cells just above, which are labeled as Aileron Axis, Elevator Axis, Rudder Axis.
Yours need to be removed so that they don't mix.

Re: configuring new control
To expand a bit Ron's post: your problem is that you're assigning to digital instead of analog. Check my screenshot.
For throttle please assign your throttle to Power Management/ Throttle/ Throttle 1 Axis (you have a Reverse Axis checkbox there also).

Ron 61 . . .
Thanks, Indeed that solved my herky-jerky flying!!
Still a bit sensitive, so I reduced sensitivity by 15% and that feels much better. May play with that some more.
Fallout9 & Ron61,
Here's 2 screenshots of my controls now.
(1) Throttle better, but still doesn't seem right. Don't know why.
(2) Do either of you know how to pause the game (MSFS), so it doesn't go into the long startup phase each time I need to adjust my bindings/controls?

Re: configuring new control
Still not good. Check my screenshot for proper assignment for pitch, roll and yaw.
For throttle, as I said above, you need Throttle 1 Axis, not Throttle 1 Axis (0 to 100), not Throttle Increase or Decrease, not anything else. If you have a plane with multiple engines assign your joystick throttle to Throttle 2 Axis etc.

Re: configuring new control
Current screenshot . . . Things working ok, but throttle is not right. When first increasing throttle control, the rpm on the dial goes slightly down. Then it recovers, and goes up. Then up and down in concert with the toggle switch on the stick. weird.

Re: configuring new control
Not weird, just wrong. You'll have to bind the throttle like all the other axes, see below:

Thanks Fallout9,
I deleted the 2nd box per your screenshot . . . working ok now. Plane is flying pretty good.

Re: configuring new control
Glad to hear it Garry! From now on, to get from 'plane flying pretty good' to 'this plane flies great' it's on you - it's called skill
Have fun!
Re: configuring new control
Fallout9 . . . Thanks for all your help these past few weeks. And Ron61, too.
Have done one successful "touch and go", and one successful landing so far. (without getting to the take-off and landing lesson yet) Of course I crashed a few times, too.

Re: configuring new control
Fallout 9
In the "takeoff" tutorial, I can't disengage the parking brake. MSFS support says to use Ctrl and Num Del on the keyboard, but that doesn't work. I tried binding a button on the flight stick, . . . also no luck. On the Options/Control page, the "Description" box has my stick greyed out . .. maybe its not being recognized by the program??
Please look at these two screen shots, tell me where I'm doing something wrong. Thanks.
