Unable to complete calibration of new Gladiator MKII

Using X-Plane 11.41
Catalina on 2017 iMac

Unboxed my new Gladiator MKII, pulled up the calibration screen, cycled through all the axis's but never got the active "Next" button. Tried it several times. Tried it using instructions on the VKB website (holding down the Flaps and Ejector buttons, etc.) The "trigger" is supposed to end it, but I don't know what the "trigger" is, and trying all the clickable parts didn't seem to do anything.

Bottom line: unable to complete the calibration because the "Next" button is never active.

Hi Brad, you have to calibrate your joystick before running the in-game calibration. Please check this guide on how to calibrate your Gladiator K without using its software; you could see the cold calibration procedure in the second half, but until then make sure the grip is properly seated on the base, so I would advise watching the whole thing.

Okay, that was unusual. Still don't know what the trigger is.

So, I will always see in X-Plane that the joystick is uncalibrated (see attached screen shot)?
