Is the joystick every thing fine in joytester? All buttons? All axis?

You shouldn't give up on it... If your joystick works well in tester and it also shows up in game menu then you're close to have it working in game. Check the tutorial I posted previously or just look for some other YouTube tutorials about binding joysticks in X-Plane, I am convinced you'll get there eventually.

You have to move the joystick in plane 11 and assign the yaw pitch and roll depending on which axis is moving ...
