My new gunfighter mcgpro 3 is broken after only 10 days

Postby rolando.lopez » Tue May 19, 2020 9:05

Hi everyone,

I purchased my new base on April 26th and I received it on may 7th. I don't live in USA so I had to ship first to USA then pay another transport company to send it to my country (very expensive in addition to vkb product and shipping cost)

I was having lots of fun with my base, I was already enjoying better performance than my indestructible CH Fighterstick, specifically performing better at avoiding over-g the aircraft and aiming with the gun. Did't try just yet air refueling.

Since the first day I noticed that my base sometimes moved like it had a twist, so I tighten the required screw a little bit more until it stopped twisting. I recall that vkb said not to over-tighten.

Yesterday after 10 days (2 or 3 hours daily use) I noticed again that my base was moving like it had a twist so I check and to my dismay I saw that the base was broken. Look at the picture

I am opening a new ticket and will be updating how they handle this, hope this can be fixed. I really wanted to love this for a long time.

Well that's a new one for sure! Probably the last part I'd think could possibly fail on the thing. I can't imagine a force enough to break that! Looking at the pic, maybe it's a shadow, but it seems there's a flat spot at about the 9 o'clock position of the hole to the left of the screw. Wondering if you have the clamp put together backwards? The two beveled edges should face each other and inward clamping against the round gimbal post. It can be hard to get them lined up especially if they're too tight before you try putting it together but that's how it's supposed to go. Good luck with that one.

It is likely that the cracker was not installed correctly. Not flat to the stock, but located arbitrarily.

Just to let you know guys, I received a quick and prompt response. They said they will send me a spare part... I can only hope they do it quickly as I was having too much fun with my Gunfighter to be honest...

By the way I studied countless (well there are not so many) videos and other sources when I did the installation and yes the two beveled edges were facing each other and inward clamping against the round gimbal post. At least that is how I inserted them, but as you know when you start tighten the screw you can't really know on the inside if the beveled edges are still in place or not.

Will let you know if there are any relevant news or updates in case this information is useful for new or existing users,
