You can not chase the most extreme versions - and 1.98_B will go. But the sequence of actions does not change. The result will be the same.

I am not chasing the most extreme versions. I asked you what versions I should use, from the several listed in the link you sent, and you said to use versions not listed among those links you sent. As I said, I'll try the _B version later when I get off work and am home again.

Zero_Thunder sent me a firmware file, _Gladiator_MCG_v1_94_B.vkb. I used that with my current configurator version. The grip now functions correctly. I was able to set it up in DCS and IL2 and it appears everything is being recognized correctly, with the possible exception of the brake axis on the MCG, which seems to just register as a button in IL2. I'll look into that further. It registers as an axis (slider) in DCS. Since I have no toe brakes on the VKB pedals, the brake axis on the grip was one of the main reasons I got it.

Thanks to him for his prompt attention to my support ticket posts.

Thanks to Fallout9 for his help here.

Hi again Griphos. I'm glad you got everything working. Even with the few initial hiccups, I'm sure you'll enjoy your device :)
As for the issue with the hand brake - DCS makes the distinction between axes and buttons; Il-2 doesn't. For some reason it accepts button inputs for dedicated axes bindings. There's a way to go around that, but you'll have to get rid of that virtual button assigned to the hand brake. If you're alright with this, you simply have to uncheck the MCG Brake box and save the changes, as in the picture below. After that there won't be any virtual buttons along the hand brake's axis, so it will get recognized properly in the game.
After you'll get adjusted with the new grip I recommend looking at the software again; I understand you find it unintuitive and complicated at first sight, but it is the most original and powerful software of this kind on the market and offers the user the ability to change and optimize the device in several ways: you could assign different functions to buttons (like tempos, shifts, toggles etc), set up permanent or just temporary curves, invoke virtual axes, swap or combine 2 axes during gameplay etc. It's really enhancing the experience.
Have fun!

Thanks for that tip. I did some more testing in IL2, and it appears that having the hand brake axis work as a button is actually a good thing. It makes setting up differential braking very easy. When I have no rudder input, pulling the brake axis (button) works both brakes together. When I push one rudder at least half way, and pull the brake axis (button), it brakes only that brake, so pushing the right rudder and pulling the axis engages the right brake. Actually quite handy in the WWII birds.

I may try out what you suggest so that it works as an actual axis with varying brake pressure to see if it will still work differentially in the same way. That would be even nicer.

And I'll take a look at the software when I have more time. What little recreational time I have now is spent actually flying. :-)

Thanks.
