Re: GF grip fasteners coming loose / how hard do I need to tighten these things?

@Sacha. In Ron's pic where he shows the "crackers". See the gap between them? That's supposed to be there when tightened against the shaft. The thinking is that yours may be a mil too long and need to be shortened a bit. Just enough that they don't meet at the pointed end. File a bit off t...

Re: GF grip fasteners coming loose / how hard do I need to tighten these things?

Ron, I think that what you're saying is being lost in the translation to English. I'm not getting it either. Edit. Upon reading it a few times, I think I have what you're saying. I think what Ron means is the points on the rusks are meeting when your tighten the screw. This shouldn't be happening. S...

Re: GF grip fasteners coming loose / how hard do I need to tighten these things?

Without having mine in front of me right now. Off the top of my head, another difference I think between my MKI Rev.A Gunfighter base is that the shaft on mine doesn't have the knurls on it yours does. Mine is smooth. But my rusk bolts have never just worked themselves loose either at the base or to...

Maybe grab another lock washer at a hardware store. It's a tiny one so it'd only be a few cents.

Re: Changing grips without flashing?

The thing is the stick is part of a modular system. It uses a specific firmware for a specific combination of base and grip. If you downloaded a firmware zip file, once extracted you see all the different firmwares for all those different combos. You have to flash the firmware for the specific grip,...

The purple stuff is usually a gunsmith thing so that's why you wouldn't generally find it in a hardware store. I just checked on mine. Bet I haven't had the stick apart in over a year and they're both good and tight. Pins all springing?

Re: GF grip fasteners coming loose / how hard do I need to tighten these things?

I wouldn't think that would just come loose like that. You're sure you have the rusks lined up with the angled sides facing the shaft? I have a 200mm extension on mine and have never had one loosen up. I don't think I have them at Hercules tight. Maybe something is off with the fitting? VKB would pr...

Re: "Out of the box" on Windows 10

You won't need drivers or firmware, that much is plug and play. But in order to calibrate the stick you'll definitely need VKB's software installed. DO NOT under any circumstances try to use windows to calibrate or manage these devices. You'll only create------more hoops for yourself! Guessing if it...

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD

Not an update at all. If that was the intended message I'd suggest a change in your marketing division. The dancing was lovely but the video did nothing to fill anyone with anticipation for a release of TECS (or whatever you were pitching there). Four minutes of the tango and 15 secs of a guy tinker...

Re: Blinking red lite

Yeah a blinking red light on the black box generally indicates a problem in the connection between the base and grip. It could be in the pins or also in one of the wire connectors inside the grip.

Re: Gunfighter Ultimate: Y axis failure

Sounds to me like a loose wire or connector. Checking for that involves some minor disassembly but nothing too crazy. You'll have to remove the grip, bottom plate and separate the gimbal from the housing. Check the little white wire connectors that go on the PCBs coming from the gimbal. Pull them ge...

Re: VKB software causes keyboard anomaly?

This has happened to me a couple of times. I've found that either the trigger wasn't calibrated properly or it wasn't "seated" meaning it was somewhere along it's axis and so "typing" the command mapped at that point and not in it's "home" position. As far as the trigge...

Re: Gunfighter Mk.II Axes dead - 100% communications error

Yeah was worth a shot. So weird tho. The comms come from the grip thru the base thru the BB to the PC and the software. You have comms to the grip but somehow it's skipping the base! That's a new one. I can't make sense of it. Only reason I threw that dart at the board is I have the same grip but Mk...

Re: Gunfighter Mk.II Axes dead - 100% communications error

How about checking the wire connections at each side of each connector? Could be something has worked loose there. It might seem like the connector halves, the white plastic parts, are making a firm fit but one of the pins at the end of the wire has worked it's way out of the connector slightly. Tak...
