Open up and check on the cable connecting the grip to the base, make sure it's properly plugged in and not damaged.

You have to plug them to a PC, so you could reset them to default and calibrate. The information is stored internally, so afterwards you can use them on the Mac.

Click again the Default button, then make sure you click Yes at the popup asking to configure. Calibrate afterwards.

2 things:

1. doesn't make any sense to flash new devices; you only need to reset them to default and calibrate them;
2. that is the wrong firmware which works only on the older model of Gladiator; you need the firmware labeled EVO for the latest Gladiators.

That's not right, please send an email to the vendor about it.

If the joystick works in the native/ Windows tester, then the issue is on the game side; try to reassign the controls or reset the custom preferences in game.

Try setting up the Landing Gear buttons as Generator.

That is the right part, but make sure you select left or right hand model, depending on what grip you already have, as they're not the same.
The Y axis is not locked by default.

You might have to reset it to default - click the Default button under the Tools tab, then click Yes to the configure popup which shows up after restart, then calibrate. You can use both joystick and rudders on the same black box, but only on the mkIII one.
