The USB PID feature is MCG grip related, not needed for STECS, so it's loaded only when a MCG is detected.

Only the STEM could be used in combination with other NXT modules, but not by itself.

Well, 'tight' is relative, depending on end user; for someone who comes from a TM style joystick, with that large spring pushing the grip from all sides, it might appear tight.

There's no attachment. Are you sure you have a MKIII Black Box?

Counter-clockwise would release the dampeners' screws. When the screws are becoming really wiggly don't go any further.
