The pins on bottom of the grip are supposed to dig into the contact pads on the base for proper contact. It's because the grip doesn't make proper contact with the base. Release the fastener and check on the 3 contact pads on the top of the base; if they're damaged take pics and fill up a service ticket. If they only have some dents reseat the grip and press on it while tightening the fastener for good...
