Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD

No one should wait on any company's product, if you have a need and the means now. Especially in a niche field where resale at 65-75% of original purchase price is a thing. As long as you're not buying bargain basement, you really can't go too far in the hole. That said, I wonder if I'm jinxing thin...

Re: MCG Pro X Axis jumping, cant fix it

Ahh, bummer. I was really hoping I could help. It was pretty subtle in my case, just some black grains maybe a bit bigger than dust, but could barely feel with a finger. I used a cotton ball with a little isopropyl wetting it to rub them off, so I could see they were caught in the cotton (as magneti...

Re: MCG Pro X Axis jumping, cant fix it

Hello, the issue still is there. When i open the base its fixed for a couple of weeks, then its coming back. I tried wiggle the cables but nothing there. Its really a shame. I was satisfied with the quality but yea. I have a squadron mate who had the exact same issue. He now switched to winwing sin...

Re: Omni Throttle center detent

Electrical detent has only been discussed as one of the advanced features of the TECS throttle, both a higher-grade arc version (after the initial arc) and the eventual rail version.

No one knows when TECS will truly land but VKB, however.

Re: GF grip fasteners coming loose / how hard do I need to tighten these things?

I think he answered that in another post - makes the screw easier to turn for the user, so tradeoff between ease of installation at slight cost of possible tightness, or at least no advantage to possible tightness. ...But this is a joystick, and not the lower belt of the floor truss, on the strength...

Re: GF grip fasteners coming loose / how hard do I need to tighten these things?

There is a simple rule for bolts and growers - if the bolt is in tension, break - the grower is not installed, it is prohibited. If the bolt is shearing, a grover is placed to prevent the nut from unwinding. We have the first case. I think he's saying if a bolt is being used "in tension" ...

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD

I think they have learned from it - not to give any prior warning of what's about to come until it's virtually ready to be in stock and for sale. This is the only thing they still occasionally tease, because people still beat them up for that very first mistake, and claim they just want to know anyt...

Re: North American distributor

Yeah, SWHMO seems to have a sixth sense seeing thru those... (not the original poster mentioning it, just commenting from my own experience). Buy her something first, or support her in something first. (Not trying to make my wife sound either mercenary or selfish - we all like nice things/treatment.)

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD

With two more years of development, I expected more. There are plenty of youtube videos of folks making an arc based throttle using a raspberry pi board and their 3d printer. There is nothing novel in producing the same thing everyone else has. VKB already has good buttons, good plastic molds, and ...

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD

The last formal update -- first post in this very thread -- was that there would be arc quadrant first (with and without electronic detentes) then the linear rail. It is still coming according to everything they've said to date.

Kids these days....

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD

vkb throttle.png Ok ... Speculation time ... So. This means that the piece will have two "main" modules? I mean, not the GNX ones we already knew, but the actual throttle and the module below, were we can see the "connection"? The module mounted in front (as in, front of the thr...

Re: Questions regarding customization of the MCG Ultimate Grip

So, I didn't pull HARD as I don't want to damage mine, but the actual hat piece for the thumbrest position is in there pretty darn good. I don't know that it's just 'removable' from the exterior alone, possible need to split the grip to get it out and replace with something to be just a button. But ...

Re: Questions regarding customization of the MCG Ultimate Grip

I know no one buys a stick new "hoping" to have to modify it, but it would probably be possible to devise a replacement hat for the thumbstick position that was more of a pure button-shape only (for 3D printing). That, plus just not mapping the other four presses in that position might pro...

Re: Remove twist spring possible?

Hi, I'm considering getting a pair of these sticks for Star Citizen, and I want to remove the spring on a left hand horizontal Gladiator NXT, to act as a throttle that stays in place. Is this possible? It really is a struggle to figure out a 7 direction layout you like Silly thought perhaps, but if...

Re: Difference between MCG Pro and MCG Ultimate

Hey, I'm waiting for a restock to get one. How long have you had yours? How is it holding up? How long did you wait to get a delivery? Was it worth the extra cash compared to what you consider being just one tier below? Visiting the VKB forum is *not* reassuring regarding customer service and I'd l...
