Re: SCG-Essential Feature!
I remember that from MW2!
Now what would work well with that is a stick without centering springs and higher friction... (and from what I've run into, there have been a few who have been running custom controls like that for MWO)

Re: SCG-Essential Feature!
(Wow, been a while since I've been around these forums, but going to chime in here). yeah, I disagree - sorry, don't take it personal, but I do play PvP competitive and there is no way that a joystick (even with the 'tuning' and 'fidelity') will beat a mouse in games like Elite Dangerous. your dexte...

Re: Three Axis Throttle ***Concept***
1. The gimbal design would play a big part in how well that would work. IMHO, anything where the axes are separate would work better than the T-16000/Warthog's blended one. 2. My thoughts after using this design, as well as an old Microsoft Strategic Commander ( picture ), is I want to eliminate tra...

Re: Three Axis Throttle ***Concept***
I actually made something sort of like that once, using a joystick as a base (Picture in this thread: http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=2201&p=23103#p23101 ); 2 axes of tilt for lateral and fore/aft thrust, twist for yaw, and vertical thrusters on the mini thumbstick. The problem...

Re: VKB Throttle
The "grip" is just enough for the T16000M's spring, though sometimes I do get a bit of slip; since there's a bit of a 'ball' at the top of the grip, I can cup my palm over that, and that gives me enough for movement in both axes most of the time. I have considered repainting it with Plasti...

Re: VKB Throttle
For the curious, this was my first version of a left-hand controller for Elite Dangerous, which I built on top of a T-16000M. Horizontal grip like a throttle, extra buttons and thumbstick like some of the different game controllers out there, but on top of a joystick gimbal, for two axes rather than...

Re: Building a custom grip for a VKB, adding buttons
It's more tedious than anything. :) I don't do any thermoforming, just cut & glue, fill, and grind, and grind, and grind... I think I've pretty much decided that I will be using an external board though, since I've set my mind on adding at least another axis. That said, no point in wasting the e...

Re: Building a custom grip for a VKB, adding buttons
I usually use a combination of ABS plastic (plumbing or old computer case panels) and polycarbonate (Lexan) sheet (preferred over ABS or plexi when I want to tap a hole) in combination with body filler or similar material. Lots of grinding with a Dremel and sanding. I've thought about learning fiber...

Re: Building a custom grip for a VKB, adding buttons
Thanks for the replies guys. The Gladiator Pro arrived today, and it's the same KG12 grip with 3-wire as far as I can tell. At least that means I'll have a spare if I mess things up. :) I will have to do some reading about shift registers. As I have mentioned, I don't know much about circuit design,...

Re: Warthog stick on VKB Vintage Fat Black Mamba Limited Edition not working.
Just in case it got missed, did you disconnect the wire on the inside of the base with the 5-pin connector and move it over to the connector on the other side? (See http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2178 , and the two pictures under 'Part 2') That was the one step I had forgotten whe...

Building a custom grip for a VKB, adding buttons
With a Gladiator Pro hopefully arriving in a few days, I've started some more planning with what would be involved with creating a custom (left-hand) grip for it. I was wondering if there was any information available (or is it even possible) to add more buttons with the existing circuitry of the KG...
