Try using rubber bands in place of springs. It will make stick very soft.

Will Gladiator pro base work with Cobra M5 grip ?
I'm used to it and like more then gladiator's one (more buttons, 2 hats...), but cobra's gimbal is lacking so I consider such upgrade.
