I've done the steps you've showed and it now does work a little better. The button now has the tactile feedback but it still is nowhere close to the feeling of the other buttons, its very mushy feeling. After spliting the grip it seems to work. I can also feel the actual button now.
But if i put the other side of the grip back on it will work for 1 press and then "get stuck" and it stops working.

I barely have to touch it for it to activate.

also, shouldnt it have a sort of tactile feedback to it? like the pinky trigger at the base has? because it feels nothing like the other buttons on the stick.

The magnet does lock it in place, but there is a little amount of play before it actually hits the button. but the moment it touches the button it activates.
