Quick Update. Since preventing Windows from putting the USB controllers to sleep the joystick has started up with windows during any restarts and has always woken after the pc has slept. Attached as requested. At the moment the joystick is waking up(five times in succession so far) but bear in mind that I have stopped Windows powering this USB controller down for the present. I think I might allow the controller to be put to sleep(the default in Windows) and see what happens.

Sorry but my old desktop is no longer viable and my laptop is a Chromebook. My old Thrustmaster joystick had no issues whatsoever with my old PC so I'm confident that it will point us in the right direction.
Is it correct that the VKB joystick doesn't identify itself in Device Manager btw?
