Found the problem. One of the contacts was stuck in low position. Never crossed my mind since I had cleaned and sprayed them with silicone not long ago. But there you have it.

Done, no result. I've been at this for half of the afternoon. 7PM here now. Checked all the connections, except for the one that goes into the base, can't see that one. Have had the grip with the extension on, without it on, changed the usb port, unplugged it, plugged it back in, hit default in the ...

Just finished cleaning and changing out a spring and now the red light is flashing on the black box and nothing responds in the configuration tool. Tried several things to include deleting the config tool, nada. Any help would be appreciated.
