Just an update; I sent a ticket as you suggested and they mailed me another C1 hat module, and this one works perfectly, so the first module was just defective.

Tried that while I had the stick half-disassembled, no change. It's clearly clicking a switch on the side and not the bottom click. I think it's just a faulty hat switch module.

After work today, I took the grip apart again, removed the C1 hat module and didn't see any obvious signs of damage, and reinstalled it. No change, still showing the C1 center push output when C1 is pushed forward.

Thanks! You still helped me figure out that it's actually the forward hat button rather than center push that's sending the wrong signal.

It seems my assumption was slightly off; the center push lights up correctly (Reg#5 Line 1, C1 push) but the forward push registers as center push as well.
