Re: Making STECS/STEM Flap Switch Both 3 Position and Momentary/Temporary

I figured out how to do this. This thread discusses making buttons activate on press and release using the toggle function: http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=7437 That mode has momentary action built in, so I just made the top and bottom buttons both toggles, with the releases pointi...

Making STECS/STEM Flap Switch Both 3 Position and Momentary/Temporary

I'm trying to map the flap lever on the STEM module of the STECS to flaps. Some aircraft have more than those three positions, though, so I'd like to make the inputs momentary so it's not overriding other inputs. The problem is that the switch is only two button inputs physically. To add the middle ...

Re: STECS and STEM Feedback - Gear and Flaps Handles

I actually misstated my thought--I'd prefer to make it self centering, which would probably require something a little more exotic. Interesting stuff!

Re: STECS and STEM Feedback - Gear and Flaps Handles

I discovered yesterday, that the flaps switch is in fact an axis with a removable plastic detent inside, so it can have as many position as you wish IF you have another detent with amount of positions required. I really hope VKB will provide alternative detents for that. Meanwhile I'll try to just ...

STECS and STEM Feedback - Gear and Flaps Handles

When the STECS released, I bought a Max kit almost instantly. For the most part, it's an outstanding addition to my cockpit and a really good complement to my MCG Ultimate. Aside from wishing the analog stick were on the front of the throttle or could be moved there, my other major feedback is about...

Re: STECS: Use Without Detent Frame

For what it's worth, I've been running without a detent frame for my no detent mode for a while without issues.

STECS: Use Without Detent Frame

This question is most relevant for the STECS Mini and Mini Plus (which only have one frame), but has some applicability to everyone. Is there any issue with running the throttle with no detent frames for a no-detent setup? It looks like the rollers don't actually touch the frames without detents, so...

Re: VKB HOTAS. Phase One.

Thanks for those dimensions! For the STECS-Max, is it possible to run it without the STEM module? Or with the STEM module connected without the MFH?

Re: VKB HOTAS. Phase One.

Is the analog ministick replaceable with a button module (like on the MCGU)? I don't find analog sticks that useful, though this has plenty of options for hats even if it's fixed!

Re: VKB HOTAS. Phase One.

Looks great! I see that the STECS Standard say that the mounting plate is compatible with the TM Warthog. Is that true for the other configurations? I'd also be very interested in all the dimensions. Thanks!

Thanks. I'd suggest something like that for a future revision, as those levers and handles do not look intuitive for there assigned functions to me. Looks like a great panel, though!

Re: Build Your Own Flight Control System with GNX Modular Product Line

Are the gear and flap handles interchangeable on the SEM with each other? To me, the gear handle looks more like a flap lever and the flap lever looks more like a gear handle. On the videos, I do see them being replaced, but the two parts may not be the same.

I'm rather happy that there is progress on this front, as we knew it would come before the TECS.

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD

Do we know whether the base dimensions for the TECS will fit an existing pattern like the Warthog? I'm hoping to build my ultimate cockpit setup, and am holding off until I can do it all at once. I imagine I can rig up something with my X52 throttle in the interim, but don't really want to go back t...
