I couldn't afford both at once! When i did get the grip plus the 200mm the base was regularly sold standalone. Immediately after they announced the GF IV. Bigger problem is they're not releasing the conversion kits either. And i need one for the extension, not the grip, because i'm not going to buy ...

It's an absolute shame. I'm (a year now) waiting to buy a GFIV base, stuck with a MCGU attached to a 200mm ext. and for a kit that would convert the extension.

Omg It's been months, will they ever sell the GFIV standalone (and the conversion kit for the extension)?

I see. I asked bc it seems strange that they'd require different kits, since both ends (the grip's and the extension's) are exactly the same, at least from outside, and since they both attach to the same place, the base (GF)!

Does the grip conversion kit also convert the curve extension

It's needless to point it out, but personally i'm waiting for the opposite thing: a standalone GFIV base and a conversion kit for (the MCGU that's attached to) the curve extension.
